Prince Harry To Visit U.S. Again

Get ready, royal fans. Prince Harry is coming back to America. Harry, 27, who did Apache helicopter training in California and Arizona last year and wowed the Caribbean and Brazil on his first solo overseas tour last month, will be in Washington, D.C, on May 7 to accept the Atlantic Council’s 2012 Award for Distinguished Humanitarian Leadership.

The honor recognizes the prince’s charitable work, particularly on behalf of military veterans and servicemen and women and their families. In a statement, Harry office stressed that he is accepting the award on behalf of “his brother the Duke of Cambridge, and their joint work through the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry.”

Harry has worked with charities such as Walking with the Wounded and Help for Heroes. During their visit to Los Angeles last July, William and his wife Kate attended an event put on by ServiceNation, a group dedicated to inspiring voluntary citizen service in America.

This weekend, Harry caused a stir at this weekend’s London Marathon by telling the BBC that his brother and sister-in-law are planning to run the race next year. But a Clarence House spokesman said Harry’s comments “were said in jest.”

Do you want the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to participate in the London Marathon? Tell us what you think!

  15. I am exploring the Internet as I never have before. I have more time since I reitred. I can see that there is a rich diversity in the blogs I am reading and I am trying to leave some comment whereever I visit. I don’t understand everything that is in all the blogs that I read, but I like your presentation here in this blog. I am approaching this from all sides, sonce I recently started my own website with its own blog. There was a place to include an email and address, so I have done that. I hope you approve that I did this. It seems to be customary so I went ahead with it. TheVeryBest2You 13 9
