Duke And Duchess Of Cambridge To Have Second Honeymoon In Asia!

A mini second honeymoon awaits Prince William and his wife Kate during their upcoming tour of Southeast Asia.

On a brief respite from their official duties, they will spend a luxurious night in a remote island hideaway on the Solomon Islands. The visit, to the private island of Tavanipupu, comes towards the end of their tour that will see them visit Singapore, Malaysia, the rainforest of Borneo and the tiny island of Tuvalu. The tour is to represent William’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, during her Diamond Jubilee.

The paradise that awaits at Tavanipupu (a former coconut plantation owned by Norwegian traders), promises seafood and homegrown organic ingredients that will excite the palate “beyond your expectations.” And the sporty pair may get to sample some of the best snorkeling around – it is one of the main reasons people visit.

The action-packed 8-day tour, which begins Sept. 11, will include also a visit to Malaysia’s rainforest, where they will be hoisted up into the trees to view the vast canopy of the forest at an environmental site run by the British Society – and if they are lucky spot orangutans.

Are you thrilled that our favorite royal couple is about to get a mini-honeymoon in the middle of their Asian tour this month? And another question that’s a bit off topic: Should they start planning for royal kids already?

Duchess Of Cambridge Goes Camping With School Kids

On Sunday, the Duchess of Cambridge joined inner-city schoolchildren on a camping trip in Kent. The group of 28 eight and nine-year-olds built tents and made campfires on a weekend designed to help develop their confidence and teamwork skills. Kate, 30, (who also spent the day Friday with local children) joined some of the campers under their makeshift shelters and on a ramble through the woods.

And, of course, she answered their questions about life as a princess. “It’s very busy and great fun but I am very well looked after,” Kate told one child.

“She said she got to visit lots of countries but hadn’t seen as many as William,” Tigerlily Smith, 8, told reporters of her conversation with Kate. As for married life, “She said William was very sweet and kind and spoiled her,” Smith revealed.

The students, from ARK’s King Solomon Academy Primary in north Westminster, London, went camping at Widehorizons’ Margaret McMillan House in Wrotham, Kent. The Foundation of Princes William and Harry (of which Kate is now a patron) supports ARK, a U.K. education charity.

The dressed-down duchess (who donned Le Chameau boots and jeans), was a hit with the children, one of whom was eager to show off his manners. ARK spokesperson Lesley Smith said the campers enjoyed themselves tremendously on their trip.

Duke And Duchess Of Cambridge Take First Carriage Ride Since Wedding

Once again, Prince William and Kate made for a fairy-tale moment Tuesday as they marked the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee with another carriage ride through London – this time, in the processional back to Buckingham Palace from Parliament Square. (Not that they’re strangers to this fancy form of transportation: They rode via carriage last summer in Ottawa while celebrating Canada Day.)

The two were joined by Prince Harry for the ride, which came after Queen Elizabeth’s 60-year reign was honored with a procession in London’s St. Paul’s Cathedral in the morning. It marked the first time since their wedding day that Will and Kate took a carriage ride together in London.

But the Duke and Duchess do have a history of double takes. It was just more than a year ago, after all, that their wedding-day double kiss on the Buckingham Palace balcony put fairy tales to shame. The second time is always the charm with these modern Royals.

So, tell us: what event for this royal couple would you wish for a double take? Feel free to comment in the box below!

Prince William Was Sleep-Deprived Night Before Royal Wedding

He was wide-eyed and all smiles as he took Kate as his wife at Westminster Abbey last April. But, like royal watchers around the world, the Duke of Cambridge hardly slept a wink the night before his big day a year ago.

The crowds gathered on The Mall, the London thoroughfare in front of Buckingham Palace, and the excitement of his impending wedding watched by the world made him restless, he tells interviewer Alan Titchmarsh for an upcoming ITV1 documentary on his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

“I hadn’t slept at all that night because obviously all the crowds were on The Mall,” he says in Elizabeth: Queen, Wife, Mother, which airs in the U.K. June 1. ”They were singing and cheering all night long. So, the excitement of that, the nervousness of me, and everyone singing meant I slept for about half an hour, I think.”

His biggest fear?: ”The hardest thing was trying to walk down the stairs with my spurs on, sideways. I had visions of myself and my brother colliding and crashing down the stairs.” Still, “It was good fun, it was really good fun,” he adds.

When it came to ironing out details for the big day, William says his grandmother was a source of wisdom, particularly when it came to the invitations. As he has gotten older, William says that they have grown closer.  William says he greatly admires how she came to the throne at the young age of “only 25.” And when it comes to the throne, she will be a hard act to follow.

William And Kate Practicing To Be Parents?

Are Prince William and his wife Kate practicing their parenting skills? The royal couple, who will celebrate their one-year anniversary on April 29, doted on a tiny baby at a party Thursday.

The prince, 29, took the 3-week-old baby, named Hugo Eric Scott, in his arms and told the baby’s dad, Vic Vicary, “He looks very sweet.” Kate, 30, came over later to chat with the little boy’s parents, Vic and Hanna, and remarked that the baby was being “so good” as she admired his Superman-style outfit.

The party marked the end of an expedition to the South Pole. The baby’s father, a Warrant Officer Second Class with the Rifles who took part in the expedition, described the Prince as “a natural” with the infant. Of course, all eyes have been on the royal newlyweds to have a baby. A royal source told PEOPLE recently that like any couple, William and Kate “will let nature and life take its course.”

In the meantime, William and Kate plan to celebrate their anniversary weekend with friends in the U.K. The couple will likely spend their actual anniversary on Sunday together at home in north Wales. The quiet, private day is a world away from their wedding of last April 29 when the world watched them say “I do.”

Prince Harry To Visit U.S. Again

Get ready, royal fans. Prince Harry is coming back to America. Harry, 27, who did Apache helicopter training in California and Arizona last year and wowed the Caribbean and Brazil on his first solo overseas tour last month, will be in Washington, D.C, on May 7 to accept the Atlantic Council’s 2012 Award for Distinguished Humanitarian Leadership.

The honor recognizes the prince’s charitable work, particularly on behalf of military veterans and servicemen and women and their families. In a statement, Harry office stressed that he is accepting the award on behalf of “his brother the Duke of Cambridge, and their joint work through the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry.”

Harry has worked with charities such as Walking with the Wounded and Help for Heroes. During their visit to Los Angeles last July, William and his wife Kate attended an event put on by ServiceNation, a group dedicated to inspiring voluntary citizen service in America.

This weekend, Harry caused a stir at this weekend’s London Marathon by telling the BBC that his brother and sister-in-law are planning to run the race next year. But a Clarence House spokesman said Harry’s comments “were said in jest.”

Prince Harry Becomes Next-door Neighbor of William and Kate

After returning from his tour of the Caribbean and Brazil, Prince Harry, 27, took his bags from his rooms at Clarence Houseover over to the Kensington Palace compound where Prince William and Kate live.

The prince is temporarily in a one-bedroom apartment in the Palace, until he can relocate to a bigger place when William and Kate move to their long-term home next year.

“This is not a huge space, but it is only natural now he’s in his 20s that he would want to be independent and have his own place, and move out of the place he has been since he was a child,” a Palace source tells PEOPLE.  ”The princes are very close, and Harry is also very close to the duchess,” the source adds. “They have all been thinking about this for a while, and when the opportunity came up they grabbed it.”

It means that William and Kate and Harry can be geographically closer when they are all in London. “They do things privately together a lot,” the source says, “and there are things that all three attend together in a formal capacity, and hopefully that won’t change.”

As previously announced, when William and Kate move into their permanent home, Apartment 1a, late next year, Harry will move into their two-bedroom home, Nottingham Cottage. Work on their home begins in earnest in September.
