Jana Kramer Engaged To Brantley GilbertCountry star Brantley Gilbert received the best gift ever in the form of an enthusiastic “Yes!” when girlfriend, One Tree Hill actress and country singer Jana Kramer, accepted his proposal of marriage in Nashville on Sunday, his 28th birthday.

‘The rest of our lives together’

“We could not be happier!” the couple tell PEOPLE exclusively in a statement from their rep. “We are so excited to share this special time with our loved ones and cannot wait to start the rest of our lives together.”


‘Asked my mom for permission’

The couple, who are both nominated in the best new vocalist categories at this year’s ACM awards have been dating about a year. Gilbert proposed in Nashville at the historic Ryman Auditorium Theater, which he rented out for the day. It is also the site of the former Grand Ole Opry stage, where iconic country couple Johnny Cash and June Carter met.

“I was so surprised!” admits Kramer, 29. “He asked my mom for permission before he proposed, which meant a lot to me.”

Jake Owen And Lacey Buchanan Tie The Knot In Sunrise Ceremony

Country star Jake Owen and his model girlfriend Lacey Buchanan are officially Mr. and Mrs. Owen.

The bride, 22, wore an Amsale gown and veil and the groom was casual in a white linen Armani shirt and Tommy Bahama drawstring pants – though both were barefoot on the beach as the sun rose over the ocean.

The sexy Owen, 30, popped the question to Buchanan on stage at his alma mater, Vero Beach High, this past April after he sang “Don’t Think I Can’t Love You” – a proposal so spontaneous he didn’t yet have the ring he designed himself. Back at their home in Nashville, he took a knee again and proposed properly.


The intimate ceremony was a family-only affair. Lacey’s sister Leah was her maid of honor, and Jake’s twin brother Jarrod served as best man. His uncle, Ron Owen, officiated.  After the couple exchanged vows and their first kiss, the party walked to the patio of the Vero Beach Hotel and Spa for champagne, cake cutting and a sit-down brunch.

Added the bride: “He gives me so much love, that it’s the best place of my life, and having the commitment of marriage means everything.”

George Lindsey ‘Goober Pyle’ Dies At 83

George Lindsey, who spent nearly 30 years as the grinning Goober on “The Andy Griffith Show” and “Hee Haw,” has died. He was 83.

A press release from Marshall-Donnelly-Combs Funeral Home in Nashville said Lindsay died early Sunday morning after a brief illness. Funeral arrangements were still being made.

Lindsey was the beanie-wearing Goober on “The Andy Griffith Show” from 1964 to 1968 and its successor, “Mayberry RFD,” from 1968 to 1971. He played the same jovial character — a service station attendant — on “Hee Haw” from 1971 until it went out of production in 1993. He joined “The Andy Griffith Show” in 1964 when Jim Nabors, portraying Gomer Pyle, left the program. Goober Pyle, who had been mentioned on the show as Gomer’s cousin, thus replaced him.


Although he was best known as Goober, Lindsey had other roles during a long TV career. Earlier, he often was a “heavy” and once shot Matt Dillon on “Gunsmoke.” His other TV credits included roles on “M(asterisk)A(asterisk)S(asterisk)H,” ”The Wonderful World of Disney,” ”CHIPs,” ”The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour,” ”The Real McCoys,” ”Rifleman,” ”The Alfred Hitchcock Hour,” ”Twilight Zone” and “Love American Style.”

He had movie roles, too, appearing in “Cannonball Run II” and “Take This Job and Shove It.” His voice was used in animated Walt Disney features including “The Aristocats,” ”The Rescuers” and “Robin Hood.”

Lindsey devoted much of his spare time to raising funds for the Alabama Special Olympics. For 17 years, he sponsored a celebrity golf tournament in Montgomery, Ala., that raised money for the mentally disabled. The University of North Alabama awarded him an honorary doctorate in 1992, and he was affectionately called “Doctor Goober” by acquaintances after that.

‘Lady Antebellum’ Star Marries Long-time Friend

It’s a three-for-all! Dave Haywood – the last single member of Lady Antebellum – tied the knot Saturday night with Kelli Cashiola on a private farm outside of Nashville.

The sun was setting over a breathtaking view from a hill as family, friends and Haywood’s bandmates, Charles Kelley and Hillary Scott, gathered around the couple at Front Porch Farms in Ashland City.

Singer and songwriter Dave Barnes provided the music for the intimate outdoor ceremony, which was followed by dinner and dancing. Guests were shuttled into the secret location.


The couple, who have been friends for nearly six years, publicly revealed their romance on Nov. 9 when Cashiola walked the CMA Red Carpet with him.

On Dec. 19, he surprised her with an early Christmas present when he spelled out “Will you marry me?” on the side of her house in Christmas lights. As he put the engagement ring on her finger, Cashiola said “Yes!”

The bride, 30, an executive with Warner Bros. Records in Nashville, wore a lacy white dress with a sash tied at the small of her back and a white flower in her hair. The groom, 29, wore a suit and tie.

Kristin Cavallari Did Not Expect Motherhood at Her Age

Life’s a beach for Kristin Cavallari: Not only is the former Laguna Beach star engaged to Jay Cutler and expecting their first child, but the pregnancy has been total smooth sailing.

But despite her seemingly easy start to motherhood, Cavallari never pictured herself with children at such a young age: “It’s so crazy to look at your life and see how far you’ve come,” she says. ”I always wanted kids, but I always thought I would have kids later on in life, maybe when I turn 30.”

And although Cavallari and Chicago Bears quarterback Cutler “weren’t trying to have kids,” the mom-to-be admits they weren’t not trying, either. Once determined to focus on her career, Cavallari admits tides have certainly changed since meeting her future husband. Now, the expectant parents are contemplating holding off on marriage — and going for a second baby carriage.

“We’re talking about the possibility of having another kid right away and then getting married so we can have two kids close in age,” the reality star reveals. ”We want four kids, so we’re thinking maybe have one more, then get married, then have two more, but we’ll see, it all depends on how the first one goes.”

“I will live in Chicago half the year, then Nashville for the other half. I’ll come to L.A. whenever I need to,” she shares. ”We both don’t want to raise our kid with paparazzi and cameras in our face. We want to give them as normal of a life as possible.”
