Joshua Jackson Was Katie Holmes’ First Love!

She may have kept a poster of Tom Cruise on her wall as a kid, but Katie Holmes’ first big, real-life romance was with another tall, dark and handsome Hollywood man: Joshua Jackson.

Last Thursday, Jackson, 35, revealed that he recently received an out-of-the-blue call from his Dawson’s Creek costar Holmes, now 33 and freshly divorced from Cruise, 50. ”Like any old friend, it was like, ‘Oh, hi how are ya? What’s going on?’; ‘I had a kid,’” the Fringe actor said of his phone chat with Suri’s now-single mom. “It was very nice, actually.”

And though the Fringe star has been in a relationship with Diane Kruger since 2006, back in the day, he and Holmes were a very serious item. In a September 1998 Rolling Stone cover story (“Katie Holmes: The Sweetheart of Dawson’s Creek”), the rising WB star, then 19, opens up about her romantic misfortunes — and fortunes.

“I had really good luck this past year and I had a really wonderful, amazing experience,” says the actress. When asked point-blank whether that “amazing experience” was with her costar Jackson, Holmes fesses up. ”I’m just going to say that I met somebody last year, I fell in love, I had my first love, and it was something so incredible and indescribable,” admits Holmes, who first broke out as a young star in director Ang Lee’s 1997 film The Ice Storm.

Before marrying Cruise in 2006 — they finalized their split last month — Holmes dated Chris Klein for five years. Shortly after she and Klein, 33, called off their engagement in 2005, Holmes and Cruise stepped out together.

Tom Cruise Visits Suri First Time After Split From Katie Holmes

Two weeks after Katie Holmes filed for divorce, Tom Cruise arrived in New York City on Tuesday and was photographed carrying his daughter Suri into a hotel. It is his first visit since he and Holmes, 33, reached a divorce settlement on July 7.

“He’s been dying to see her,” says a source of Cruise, who finished shooting his latest movie, Oblivion, on Sunday in California. Cruise learned of Holmes’s divorce filing while shooting the same film on location in Iceland. And although he and Suri have spoken frequently since the split, he has not seen her in person since mid-June.

Holmes and Cruise have agreed that Suri will live in New York with her mother, but the actor will see her often. “He’ll be with her whenever he can,” says a source. Currently, the pair plan to spend several days together in the city, where Suri is expected to attend a local private school this fall.

Sources close to Cruise and Holmes say the former couple will work together to make sure that hand-offs are as pleasant as possible. “They both know they are going to have to make decisions together regarding Suri for many, many years,” says the source. “And they know she loves both her parents.”

With both parents working towards what’s best for Suri, do you think everything will be smooth sailing from now on? Is there any chance that Katie Holmes will return to Tom Cruise?

TomKat Divorce: Tom Did NOT Settle With Katie To Hide Secrets!

Tom Cruise did NOT settle his divorce with Katie Holmes because he feared she might spill secrets about the actor — this according to Tom’s lawyer.

Attorney Bert Fields scoffs at reports claiming Tom was fearful of what Katie might reveal, telling TMZ, “Tom had nothing to hide and did nothing in the agreement to hide anything.  People are just making this stuff up.”

As for the child custody arrangement, it appears Tom will indeed have the “significant” contact with Suri that we reported about last week.  Fields said, “Tom will definitely have a meaningful relationship with his daughter, but I can’t talk about specifics of the agreement.”

Fields said Tom’s primary concern in the settlement was Suri and added Tom was “pleased we could work out how Suri will be treated and dealt with.” And, on the subject of Katie Holmes, Fields said, “I don’t think Tom is bitter.  He’s sad it came to this,” adding, “The media firestorm which is replete with bogus information is unpleasant for him.”

TomKat Divorce: Two Parties Finally Reach Settlement

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have reached an agreement to settle their divorce, representatives of both film stars have confirmed.

In a joint statement released earlier on Monday, the pair said they were “working together” to settle custody of their daughter Suri, six: ”We are committed to working together as parents to accomplish what is in our daughter Suri’s best interests,” the statement read. ”We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other’s commitment to our respective beliefs and support each other’s roles as parents.”

The divorce has raised speculation among Hollywood media that the couple differed on raising Suri as a Scientologist. Neither Holmes nor Cruise’s legal team would comment. A lawyer for the Church of Scientology denied last week that Cruise wanted Suri to join the Sea Organization, sometimes described as the organisation’s militaristic wing.

It was revealed last month that Holmes, 33, was filing for divorce. It was Holmes’ first marriage and Cruise’s third. He previously was married to actresses Mimi Rogers and Nicole Kidman, which both ended in divorce. He adopted two children with Kidman. Cruise also had a three-year relationship with the Spanish actress Penelope Cruz.

Paul Talbert, a family law expert, told Reuters news agency the settlement had been reached quickly for such a high-profile couple: ”Cases with so many moving parts do not routinely resolve themselves in a matter of 10 days. We obviously have one or two extremely motivated people,” Mr Talbert said. ”Nobody wins in a messy public battle, and you certainly have two concerned parents here that recognised Suri definitely loses if this is a public divorce.”

Since everything is under tight wraps, let’s speculate about the whole settlement. What conditions do you think were included in the settlement? As for Suri, who will have custody over her?

TomKat Divorce: How Katie Plotted The Great Split

Katie Holmes’s decision to leave Tom Cruise may have seemed sudden, but it involved meticulous planning. And no one was more shocked than Cruise himself.

“She was talking to Tom on the phone up until last week saying, ‘I love you,’ ” a source tells PEOPLE of the actress. ”Her inner circle has been planning this and switching out cell phones since she was in China [in mid-June]. When new cell phones arrived, then nobody could reach her. Her old best friends from last week don’t have her new number, no email. She’s unreachable.”

Holmes, 33, also rented her new apartment in New York City in early June. “[Tom] knew that she moved there, but [he thought it was] for different reasons,” says the source. ”She said she moved there to drive into the underground garage. There are fewer paparazzi and it’s less intrusive for her,” says the source. “It was the first phase of getting everything out of the house, and that’s why she was able to say she’s moving without giving an indication that she was going to divorce him.”

Then, last week, her father, Martin Holmes, arrived in New York and helped his daughter clean house, firing many of the people around her shortly before Holmes filed for divorce anonymously in New York City.

Was the well-planned “sudden” divorce a smart move for Katie? How come Tom never had an inkling that his marriage was crumbling? Feel free to share your thoughts with us in the comment box below!

TomKat Divorce — Katie Holmes To Walk Away With Nothing

Katie Holmes will be getting virtually nothing from Tom Cruise by way of $$$$ because their prenup cuts her out of his fortune … and sources connected with Katie tell us it’s just fine with her.

We’ve learned the prenup Katie signed is long, tight and stacked in Tom’s favor.  We’re told reports that she’ll walk away with $15-20 million are absurd.  Our sources say Katie will walk away with what she brought into the marriage … and hardly anything else.

Our Katie sources tell us, “She’s not about the money.  She’s not that girl.  She loves to work.” We’re told there’s one thing Katie is insistent on — she wants child support from Tom, and that could turn into a big ticket item.

As for whether Katie will challenge the prenup … it’s pretty common when a divorcing couple is in conflict, and our Katie sources are not ruling that out.  But they insist, “Money is not that important to her.  She makes plenty on her own.”

Do you think Katie will challenge the prenup she originally signed? Why do you think Tom Cruise devised the air-tight prenup in the first place? Feel free to share your thoughts and comments with us!

Katie Holmes Divorces Tom Cruise — Scientology To Blame?

Last week, Tom Cruise took daughter Suri and son Connor to an awards ceremony in New York. Meanwhile, Katie Holmes was on the other side of the planet in Taiwan. The official reason was to promote an ice skating event. Now that Holmes filed for divorce on Friday, according to People, Holmes’ Taiwan trip seems more like a warning sign than anything else.

In recent months, the couple was rarely photographed together, even when the two were in the same city. What has been spotlighted, particularly in the Daily Mail, is Holmes’ recent style. The usually impeccably dressed actress has been photographed looking like, well, a down-to-earth mom. Untucked button-downs, jeans, loosely wet knotted hair — none of which would raise alarm bells unless you were a superstar known for a meticulously managed makeover since her marriage began more than five years ago.

One stressor on the relationship could stem from Cruise’s devotion to Scientology — it’s long been blamed for his split from Nicole Kidman – and the serious allegations of his mistreatment of lower-ranked members of the religious group, as this New Yorker article pointed out.

If Holmes thought her marriage to a superstar would be a boon to her career, she was wrong. Since their union began about six years ago, her professional life has taken a backseat to being a wife and mother. That may have been her choosing, but a recent interview with Cruise in Playboy suggests an unsettled Holmes, who wanted more from her career than just being known as a superstar’s wife.

It’s something Cruise’s second ex-wife, Nicole Kidman, was all too familiar with. When asked in an interview with Vanity Fair whether women could have both marriage and career, she said of her marriage to Cruise: “I think I had to choose. I think (the marriage) would have come down to it. I suppose it wasn’t meant to be.”

What do you think is the real reason why Katie Holmes decided to file for divorce from Tom Cruise? Ladies, would YOU date Tom Cruise despite all the Scientology stuff?
