Prince William Gets $14M On 30th Birthday

Prince William turned 30 on Thursday. And the Duke of Cambridge is getting a nice little 30th birthday gift: $14 million.

William is expected to inherit close to £10 million from this late mother’s estate, according to the Daily Mail. Princess Diana, who was killed in a car accident in 1997, entrusted her estate—estimated to be worth more than £20 million—to William and his brother, Prince Harry. William—who was 15 when his mother died—had the option of taking control of his half when he turned 30, the paper said. And now, the time has come for him to decide whether to take that option or not.

According to ABC News, his share is worth upwards of $14 million–which makes that $10 check you get from your aunt every year on your birthday seem not-so-great all of the sudden.

William Arthur Philip Louis Windsor was born on June 21, 1982, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, west London. He married Kate Middleton, who turned 30 in January, in a quaint ceremony last year.

And just when you think he already has everything, he receives more! Now, what do you think should the Duke of Cambridge do with his birthday inheritance? Share your thoughts and comments with us!
